About Paul Notaras

As the Principal at Financial GPS, Paul Notaras has cross-functional, extensive experience in diversified businesses as a senior financial and business executive for 20+ years. He understands the complexities of varying companies, helping clients identify and achieve Business Development and Profitability opportunities.

Notaras’ experience in solving tricky stakeholder issues, securing high level commercial lending opportunities, taking companies public, engaging legal counsel to protect intellectual property and managing all facets of manufacturing serves as an overall umbrella to both profit and non-profit businesses.

Notaras has been on both the buy and sell sides, elevating bottom lines, with first-hand knowledge of authentic company positioning, including scaling your business, protecting your portfolio, identifying positions to be filled and screening the right candidates, or managing growth in the real estate, health services and financial industries. Notaras has a knack for identifying financial needs among borrowers and those launching entire companies or new products to fill those gaps.

Notaras began his career as a commercial lender and then moved to his Client, Merrill Lynch to manage its global creditor relations, serve as Treasurer for non USD funding and as Chief Financial Officer for Merrill Lynch's global private equity business. He then ran the North American business of a process outsourcing firm and moved to Southern California as the Chief Financial Officer for Rustic Canyon, the largest venture capital firm in the region. In 2009, he started his own company dedicated to the financial wellness of consumers, which he subsequently sold.

Notaras earned his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Boston College and an MBA in Finance and International Business from New York University. He serves in Board level and financial oversight roles for non-profit organizations in his community. Notaras and his wife have two children and live in Pacific Palisades, California.
